We perform a thorough clinical and bio-mechanical assessment, and make recommendations on treatment for your foot-related problems. With a doctor's referral note we can make customized orthotics, or suggest over-the counter products which you could benefit from.
 

No, although they are a specialty of our clinic. We also sell specialty foot products that are unavailable in pharmacies or shoe stores. If we feel that some good advice and a gel toe spreader, for example, are all you need to feel better, then that is all we will sell to you. Often when patients are referred here, they have tried several treatment options, such as drugstore products and icing, which have been unsuccessful and they are in need of something designed specifically for their feet.
 

For adults, they are $452.00 per pair. Children's orthotics start at $392.00. There are no taxes on custom devices.
 

No, we issue a detailed receipt to you upon payment, and you must then submit it along with your doctor's note and a letter for insurance purposes, to your insurance company for reimbursement.
 

Based on your needs, the composition of your orthotics will be determined by the pedorthist assessing you. Some orthotics are made of rubber-based materials, and others are made of semi-rigid plastics and /or fiberglass. They are then covered with a cushioned material and durable topcover to provide extra comfort. The lab facillity we use to make our orthotics is capable of making very complicated orthotics.  Chuck is very particular about orthotics and how they are made! 
 

Our turn-around time is excellent. They are ready in about 10 business days.
 

Yes, they are removable and transfer nicely between similar pairs of shoes. On occasion you may require a second pair to use in some footwear, such as high heels, loafers, ski boots, or skates for example.
 

Most individuals are advised to wear them indefinitely because the orthotics correct their gait and prevent problems from recurring. Some of these problems can include long term joint wear and tear (osteoarthritis), so there can be great value associated with their use. Like a pair of glasses, there is benefit with no downside with their use. Some individuals will find they need to use them all the time, others part time. Orthotics address structural abnormalities, which usually progress gradually over time (gravity, normal use and excess body weight all do this). In the end, it is up to the patient to decide.
